The chosen candidate will receive comprehensive training and professional development, playing a crucial role in the effective running of a research lab. Your core responsibilities include the daily maintenance and smooth operation of the lab, adhering strictly to SOPs and health and safety requirements. You will also work closely with the R&D team, conducting standard tests on materials produced by Uplift360. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about fighting climate change, circular economics and green technologies.</p><h3>Key Accountabilities</h3><ul><li>Ensuring smooth and efficient running of an industrial research lab.</li><li>Proficient handling of chemicals following rigorous health and safety protocols.</li><li>Planning and executing analytical measurements and experiments under the supervision of material scientists.</li><li>Analyzing collected data using prescribed templates.</li><li>Making SOPs and reports.</li><li>Handling chemical inventory; placing orders and receiving goods in a timely manner.</li><li>Ensuring lab equipment is well maintained and calibrated.</li><li>Promoting Uplift360’s vision, mission and core values internally and externally.</li></ul><p>These key accountabilities listed above describe an overview of the post and are not intended to be exhaustive. The job holder is expected to accept reasonable additional tasks of similar level that may be necessary and not listed.</p><h3>Essential Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities</h3><ul><li>A-levels or BTEC in the sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial research laboratory.</li></ul><p><b>OR</b></p><ul><li>Degree in a science with lab-based experience.</li><li>Confident with a practical hands‑on approach in the lab and excellent self‑starter as well as a dedicated team player.</li><li>Flexibility and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Excellent communication and people skills.</li><li>Proficient in computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.</li><li>Be a self‑starter, comfortable in operating in fast‑paced and uncertain environments.</li><li>Be located within and/or be willing to relocate to Bristol or nearby town/city.</li></ul><h3>Desirable Qualifications and Experience</h3><ul><li>Industrial experience in a laboratory environment.</li><li>2.1 or above in material science, chemistry or chemical engineering.</li><li>Experience in procurement, interfacing with chemical suppliers or equipment vendors.</li><li>Manual handling qualifications.</li></ul><h3>Why Join Uplift360?</h3><p>We are a family‑friendly company that believes in the importance of supporting our employees to find and maintain an excellent work‑life balance.
