Purpose of role: The Senior Financial Crime and Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves deputising for the Head of Compliance/MLRO, managing regulatory changes, and addressing financial crime risks. Key Responsibilities: Develop a thorough understanding of the business and regulatory landscape the business operates within. Provide financial crime and compliance advice, guidance and direction to the business on the legislative and regulatory requirements and impact of these requirements, as well as regulatory change, and ensuring application and control mechanisms are understood and consistently embedded Develop a good understanding of the business, identify ways of improving upon practices with compliance to help deliver a service above basic regulatory and legislative requirements that enhance growth and success. Support delivery of the business acquisition strategy and ensure compliance is represented on all acquisition projects. Assist in the production and presentation of compliance reports to various boards and committees within the Ascot Lloyd group. Promote a good risk and compliance culture at Ascot Lloyd. Encourage good risk management processes. Fostering a risk-aware culture acting as a business enabler through which management feels empowered to take risks in a manner that is transparent and that is in line with the business and risk strategy Develop and maintain policies and procedures to prevent financial crime, including money laundering, fraud, and bribery. Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks. Monitor, assess, and implement regulatory changes affecting the company. Ensure that all departments are informed and compliant with new regulations. Develop and deliver compliance and anti-financial crime training programs to employees, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and the importance of compliance. Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Head of Compliance/MLRO, ensuring continuity in compliance oversight and decision-making. Experience / Skills Required Proven experience in a compliance and anti-financial crime role within a regulated industry. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and financial crime prevention. Detailed technical knowledge of core legislation including the UK sanctions regime, Money Laundering Regulations, POCA, Fraud Act, and Bribery Act. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions in the absence of the Head of Compliance/MLRO. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
