Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation, and forced marriage.
We are seeking to appoint the following position:
Children and Young People Support Worker
Location: Cardiff
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Salary: £26,300 per annum pro rata
Contract: Fixed-term up to 30th March 2026, subject to funding
Role:
To ensure that Bawso provides a happy, safe, and enjoyable experience for children and young people, ensuring a high quality of childcare at all times to meet their educational, social, and cultural needs.
The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse and will plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate play opportunities.
This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
Qualifications and Knowledge:
* NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Childcare is essential.
* Support work experience is desirable for this role.
