Join Our Team as a Customer Accounting Risk Manager
We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead the identification, analysis, and mitigation of various risks associated with collections. Your role will be pivotal in developing robust risk management controls and contingency plans, ultimately aiming to reduce bad debt and overall risk exposure in our Customer Accounting team.
Role Purpose:
As the Customer Accounting Risk Manager, you will delve into the depths of Global, Regional, and Local AR processes, including Customs, to provide strategic recommendations aimed at minimizing risk exposure. With an annual debt in scope of approximately £2 billion, your expertise will be crucial in navigating this complex terrain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Mitigating Risks: Keep a vigilant eye on credit risk exposures, crafting and executing strategies to address identified risks effectively.
- Comprehensive Assessments: Dive deep into credit risk assessments, analyzing AR data, financial statements, and credit reports to unearth trends, patterns, and potential risks.
- Collaborative Initiatives: Work closely with internal stakeholders and collections teams to implement credit risk management initiatives and optimize credit risk decisions.
- Innovative Solutions: Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge credit risk management tools, systems, and analytics to bolster oversight and effectiveness.
- Relationship Building: Forge and maintain strong relationships with all business units, driving performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
People Management:
Manage a small team of Finance Risk professionals, providing motivation, guidance, and performance appraisals to ensure alignment with organizational targets and objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Partnership Building: Ability to maintain strong partnerships with various business units including Sales, Operations, Legal, and Aviation.
- Technical Proficiency: Excellent system skills, particularly in reporting tools like Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical Acumen: Strong data-led approach with impeccable analytical skills.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain consistency and accuracy even in the most complex situations.
- Influencing Skills: Proven track record of effectively communicating ideas and driving their adoption.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. Professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA is preferred, with minimum PQ status.
Safety and Security:
Adhere strictly to country laws, regulations, and company procedures pertaining to safety, security, customs, import, and export. Remain vigilant for potential security breaches or concerns, promptly reporting them to the relevant authorities.
