Responsibilities and duties of the QA/QC Inspector role
Reporting to the Quality and Engineering Manager, you will:
Primary Focus: QC, Metrology & ASME Code Compliance
Take full ownership of CMM operations (Faro Arm with PolyWorks), including inspection programming and measurement strategy development.
Interpret and manipulate 3D CAD data to support dimensional inspection and verification.
Act as the business's ASME Certified Individual, performing final verification of products manufactured under ASME Code UM stamps prior to delivery (formal designation subject to passing ASME competency examination).
Carry out goods-in, visual, and mechanical inspections using a wide range of manual metrology equipment.
Provide clear technical feedback where drawing interpretation or customer requirements present risk.
Secondary Focus: QA Support
Support the investigation and resolution of internal, supplier, and customer non-conformances (NCRs).
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure quality is embedded from concept through manufacture.
Assist Engineering and Production in maintaining full product traceability throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Essential
Significant experience in Quality / Inspection within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of CMM inspection, ideally Faro Arms and PolyWorks.
Excellent ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, ISIRs and FAIRs.
Hands-on metrology experience using verniers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and pressure equipment regulations (PED / AD2000).
Desirable
Experience in nuclear or similarly regulated industries.
Understanding of welding processes (MIG/TIG) and NDT techniques.
Engineering qualification.

Core hours: 10:00-15:00 Mon-Thu, 09:00-12:00 Fri
