An opportunity has arisen to work at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust for the procurement department as the Contract/Category Manager.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of a cost effective and responsive professional purchasing and supplies service, providing professional advice and support on compliance with Procurement legislation, national and local policies.
To assist in promoting strategic procurement issues across all Trusts by efficient and effective purchasing arrangements. To make contributions to value for money to help improve patient care.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, and performance of a defined portfolio of contracts and will provide purchasing and contracting support for a range of goods and services across the Trust. This includes ensuring continuity of supply, value for money, regulatory compliance, and effective supplier performance, in support of safe and high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for carrying out procurement, to compare and assess tenders and contracts, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison may be across a range of options.
* To work in accordance with the Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions and other relevant policies.
* Take responsibility for a portfolio of goods and services contracts, lead quote and tender negotiations in line with Procurement legislation and commercial/contact law; defining project objectives and needs, developing appropriate evaluation methods, achieving optimum value and ensuring compliance as appropriate with best practice guidance.
* To manage, co-ordinate and prepare tender and contract documentation, using e-contract and e-tendering systems, ensuring accurate data is maintained. To coordinate evaluation, across a broad range of goods, both capital and revenue, and services required by the Trust.
* To lead on the procurement of capital purchases in accordance with the Trust Policy and Capital Oversight Group (COG), To lead on the contractual appropriation of the category equipment maintenance programme,
* To lead on procurement user guides with system colleagues to enable user training.
* To line manage staff reporting into the post
