Overview
Job Description – East Lothian Council IT Infrastructure and Security team. The role is based at John Muir House, Haddington, with options for home, hybrid or office working. Flexible starting and finishing times are available. The position involves working on enterprise networks, servers, storage, and cloud facilities to support digital transformation across the Council.
To start asap. Salary: £19.45 - £21.75 per hour. Days and hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00–17:00, with flexibility to accommodate starting/finishing times.
Responsibilities
* Work with colleagues to ensure all aspects of the Council’s IT infrastructure operate efficiently and effectively.
* Assist with the evaluation, selection and standardisation of new technologies.
* Provide Level 2 IT Support.
* Provide professional advice and guidance to enable Council-wide digital transformation.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Education: Relevant degree and/or demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
* Disclosure Scotland: This role requires Basic Disclosure Clearance to access secure government networks. Baseline security clearance application will be submitted on the candidate’s behalf and a certificate is required prior to commencement.
* Relevant Qualifications: HND or equivalent knowledge/experience as applicable.
* Driving Licence: Must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle; willingness to travel to council sites as required.
* Level 1 Disclosure: Requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to access the Public Sector Network; a Police Act Disclosure will be submitted on behalf of the candidate with certificate required prior to commencement. If applicable, overseas criminal record checks may be required for UK residence in the last 5 years.
