ACS Staffing Solutions are delighted to be supporting a growing and highly regarded independent accountancy practice based in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes.
This well-established firm has built an excellent reputation for delivering tailored accountancy and advisory services to a broad portfolio of SME clients. Known for its collaborative culture and strong client relationships, the business is continuing to grow and is now seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients, managing a varied workload, and supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers hybrid working, flexibility and genuine long-term progression within a growing practice.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing a varied portfolio of bookkeeping clients
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations including bank, VAT, credit cards, receivables, payables, payroll, CIS, intercompany and loan accounts
• Processing bills and expenses and managing supplier payments
• Managing credit control processes
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Facilitating accounting software integrations for clients
• Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts
• Communicating with clients on a daily basis to resolve queries and provide support
• Managing client requests and ensuring high levels of service delivery
• Maintaining and strengthening long-term client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
The Ideal Candidate
• Minimum 4–5 years’ bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience managing bookkeeping processes through to trial balance
• Solid knowledge of VAT preparation and current VAT regulations
• Proven experience managing multiple client accounts and deadlines
• Strong experience using Xero (essential)
• Experience with Sage or QuickBooks would be beneficial
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with clients
• Proactive, solutions-focused and able to think creatively when resolving client queries
Desirable
• AAT Level 4 qualified or working towards
