IT Support Engineer
Location: Leicester / Swindon (multi-site role)
Salary: £35,000
If you’re someone who prefers being hands-on, visible in the business, and actually fixing problems rather than just passing tickets around, this role will suit you.
This is a site-based IT Support Engineer role where you’ll act as the main IT presence locally, supporting both office users and warehouse operations. You’ll work closely with a wider IT team and an external MSP, but you’ll be the one on the ground making things happen.
The role
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day IT support across two UK sites, covering a mix of user support, devices, and operational technology.
It’s a role for someone who enjoys ownership and wants to be relied on, not hidden behind a service desk.
What you’ll be doing
* Providing hands-on IT support across office and warehouse environments
* Acting as the primary on-site contact for IT issues
* Troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Windows, devices and applications
* Working alongside an MSP for 1st line support and escalation
* Managing and updating tickets through Jira Service Management
* Supporting warehouse tech (scanners, handheld devices, printers)
* Managing Dell laptops/desktops and Apple iPhones
* Supporting Intune enrolment and device compliance
* Assisting with networking issues (Wi-Fi, switching)
* Maintaining IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking
* Supporting patching, endpoint protection and security compliance
* Contributing to documentation and internal knowledge base
What they’re looking for
* Experience in an IT Support / IT Technician role (L1–L2 level)
* Strong Microsoft 365 and Windows support experience
* Comfortable working face-to-face with users across different environments
* Experience with Intune or device management tools
* Basic networking knowledge
* Experience using a ticketing system (Jira ideal but not essential)
* Someone who takes ownership and follows issues through properly
The environment
* Multi-site role (Leicester / Swindon – travel required)
* Mix of office and warehouse/operational IT
* Working alongside an MSP and IT Manager (clear escalation structure)
* High visibility role within the business
Why it’s worth considering
* Not just another service desk role – you’ll be embedded in the business
* Real variety across user support and operational tech
* Opportunity to grow into a more senior / infrastructure-focused role
* Stable environment within a well-established organisation
