Ashtead Technology have an opportunity to join our Mechanical Solutions operations at our facility in Fintray as a Maintenance Technician. In this role you will be involved with the maintenance and operation of our range of diesel, hydraulic, electric & pneumatically powered rental equipment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Ensuring all machinery is fully prepped, cosmetically presented, and job-ready through needle gunning, grinding, surface preparation, undercoating, and painting.
* Working to meet Puwer Regulations including fabricating and installing protective guards to restrict access to moving parts. as well as measuring, marking, cutting, drilling, welding, fitting, preparing, and finishing to a high standard.
* Carrying out detailed pre-mobilisation and demobilisation checks including oil, grease, and fuel levels, adjustments, function and pressure testing, certification checks, and completion of associated paperwork.
* Building, testing, pre-mob checking, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel, hydraulic, and air-driven equipment.
* Supporting the fabrication and new build of rental equipment, ensuring durability and performance.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and carry out all routine servicing duties to minimise downtime.
* Assisting clients offsite with various work scopes as required.
* Operation of forklifts and any other company vehicles as required.
What Experience You'll Bring
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
* Previous experience undertaking repair, maintenance and testing in a mechanical engineering environment.
* Keen interest in mechanical machinery and hands on working.
* Forklift licence.
* Problem-solving capabilities and strong team working ability.
* Engineering / fabrication / welding experience preferred but not essential
