Position Overview
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Department of Cellular Pathology. The successful candidate must have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology, or possess significant experience that demonstrates competency at that level.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the newly developed area of digital pathology.
* Perform specialist techniques such as specimen dissection, diagnostic cytology, andrology and special staining techniques.
* Take a leadership role within sections of the department.
* Provide a diagnostic service to clinicians and other users to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
* Conduct scientific work within the laboratory, analyse initial findings, and identify necessary follow-up actions.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist.
* Completion of IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology, or significant experience demonstrating competency at that level.
