We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has a desire to work with, or has experience of working with children who have Special Educational Needs; who has a real passion to support and enable the learning and development of the children in our inclusive school where our aim is that all pupils have access to high-quality learning – both academic and social/emotional learning.
We are looking for a practitioner who has an innovative approach to their work and is not afraid to think of new and interesting approaches to the support they offer. We are looking for a dedicated professional who will seek to invest in their own development alongside that provided by the school and will link practice to research and policy.
We are looking for a practitioner to work, initially, with pupils across Key Stage 2 but have Key Stage 1 and EYFS pupils in our Infant School; staff work across both schools to the benefit of all. You will support pupils to access the classroom environment, supporting both their academic achievement and their social achievements. Personal Development is a key driver through school, and we aim to support our pupils to make positive and respectful relationships with their peers. Class based support, one to one support and small group support is used to reduce barriers to learning and enable children to succeed.
Whether you are an experienced teaching assistant who has worked within specialist educational needs or someone who has exceptional vocational skills and a real drive to make a difference in children’s lives, you must be able to provide our children with aspirations for their futures along with promoting a positive culture in everything you do. This post potentially offers much opportunity for professional development for the successful candidate!
We value high quality teaching which makes learning enjoyable, fun and memorable. We are looking for someone who can support in the delivery of this so that every child achieves their potential and develops a love of learning.
We value innovation, flair, self-awareness, and vision and are looking to appoint a professional who takes their own professional development seriously and invests themselves in remaining up-to-date with relevant reading and research. Other valued, desired attributes include the ability to work under pressure, to contribute new ideas and work well in a team; a good sense of humour and the ability to successfully self-manage in a school environment would be welcomed.
