Location: Hereford, HR1 1RY
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (30 minute break
Contract: Temporary for 3 months with potential to become permanent
Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Wastewater Site Assistant to support operations at a busy treatment site. This is a varied role with a strong administrative focus, combined with some hands on duties within the site environment.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for someone local to the Hereford area who is comfortable working in a wastewater environment. You will be required to travel to Newport as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Checking and processing duty of care paperwork
* Inputting data accurately onto spreadsheets
* Flagging any issues prior to accepting waste
* Carrying out basic lab analysis and taking samples
* Managing emails and calls throughout the day
* Updating site schedules and daily logs
* Liaising with tanker drivers and transport managers
* Supporting the movement of tankers safely on site
* Assisting with site maintenance including spill clean up
* Raking screens to remove waste materials such as plastics and rags
Working Environment
* Based on a wastewater treatment site
* Exposure to odours and sewage
* Site can become messy at times due to spillages
* Mixture of office based admin and outdoor duties
* Usually working as part of a small team, with some lone working required
Requirements
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Comfortable working in a wastewater or industrial environment xxuwjjq
* Good communication skills with the ability to manage changing priorities
* Health and safety awareness, particularly around vehicles on site
* Flexible and able to adapt to a fast moving environment
* Willingness to undertake both admin and physical tasks
* Valid UK driving licence
