Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fine dining and catering, with a passion for food production and kitchen management. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* To implement ans supervise all aspects of kitchen control e.g. menus, hygiene, health & safety, staff, cleaning and waste control.
* Manage inventory control and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to foster a collaborative team environment.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
* Coordinate with the nurses to accommodate special dietary needs.
* To complete monthly audits for kitchen and report any finding to the home manager
* To consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their need and choices are being met.
* To implement a four weekly rota
* Attend residents / relative meeting whenever possible
* To carry out staff supervisions adhering to home policies.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a nursing / residential home.
* Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food service management, and inventory management.
* Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing teams effectively.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations within the food industry.
* Have the right to work in the UK to apply for this position
