Clinical Pharmacy is transforming and is looking for pharmacists who are engaged in driving improvements in patient care including through identifying and focussing on clinical priorities, developing the pharmacy team, utilising technology, improving governance processes and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders to improve workflows and systems. There is a broad pharmacy team and multidisciplinary team to support you to achieve this.

The NTC provide services for Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics. There is also a Paediatric and Maternity unit. There are currently 3 Lead Pharmacists plus Specialist and Rotational Pharmacists. We are working to develop a Clinical Technician and Support Worker team.

The Rural General Hospital in Fort William and Wick are part of the Acute Pharmacy Team. The post holder will work with the RGH teams to provide specialist advice, information share and to support standardised working across the three sites.

There has been significant investment in pharmacy services in NHS Highland. We introduced robotics in 2021 and HEPMA is currently being rolled out across the board with 2 sites have gone live already and active planning in place for other sites. The Highlands and Islands Pharmacy Research and Education Centre is also on site.

You will be required to participate in an on-call rota (currently approximately 1 in 25) and weekend working (currently approximately 6 weekend days per year) and public holidays.

A relocation package may be available for the right candidate. Part-time working would be considered.
