Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. In this role you will provide advice and guidance as well as approve transactions/annual reviews within personal authority, and making recommendations for those outside. If successful, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impression on how the bank enhances it's reputation and growth.
In this role you will:
• Review and evaluate credit applications and recommend or approve these in line with credit policy and with an awareness of business objectives.
• Exercise Lending Authority in respect of transactions and annual reviews in a timely manner that balances effective risk management with business/economic profit objectives.
• Act as a point of referral for advice and guidance and provide recommendations.
• Support the Senior Credit Manager in the management of risk across the portfolios.
• Assist in the monitoring of portfolio trends and highlight any areas of weakness or potential loss.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Experience of working with customers directly in a Lending based position, specifically Mortgages - essential
• Underwriting experience - desirable
• Customer focused approach, always having fair customer outcomes at the heart of what you do whilst being able to balance with business objectives
• Diligent when it comes to protecting the bank's reputation
• A demonstrable understanding of when to act on own authority, and when to escalate issues
