Applications are invited for a substantive Thoracic Consultant Surgeon position. This is an exciting opportunity to join the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre, based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital (GJUNH). The GJUNH is a high-volume thoracic centre delivering thoracic surgical services to 2.6 million people in the west of Scotland.
The hospital provides a full range of outpatient and inpatient facilities, supported by a network of multidisciplinary meetings for regional and local care. It is also the national base for three services: the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, Scottish Advanced Heart Failure, and Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Units, with a dedicated ward for patient care.
The unit is a high-volume robotic centre performing all aspects of thoracic surgery, including pectus surgery, lung volume reduction techniques, trauma, and complex oncological surgeries.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission within 6 months of the interview date.
