The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Bolton Educational Psychologist Service in partnership with the Mental Health Support Team, supporting the implementation of the Whole School and College Approach (WCSA) to Mental Health through the Emotionally Friendly Schools (EFS) programme. You will support the delivery of the programme across Bolton educational settings with current access to a Mental Health Support Team. In addition the successful candidates will also have the opportunity to undertake a range of other work including observations, consultations, appropriate assessments, writing reports and delivering training.

Applications are invited from candidates who wish to embark on the professional doctorate and qualify as an Educational Psychologist.

About You
We are a small and supportive team in a local authority where SEND is given a high priority and where we have strong working relationships with our schools. Our recent Bolton local area SEND Inspection (June 2024) recognised that ‘The local area partnership’s special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) arrangements typically lead to positive experiences and outcomes for children and young people with SEND’ and that ‘Local area leaders in Bolton demonstrate a genuine determination to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND. They inspire a culture of care and creativity. Children and young people are at the centre of local leaders’ thoughts, planning and decision-making’.

You will be working with a supportive team in which there is a range of experience to draw upon and share. We offer a supportive induction process for new members of staff and you will be provided with a career pathway, personal development programme that suits your needs, individual and group supervision, dedicated administrative support, pleasant office facilities, free on site parking and an opportunity to work in a hybrid manner.

These posts offer an opportunity to develop the skills and experience needed to apply for the Educational Psychology doctoral training course.
