A Vacancy at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Transfer to Assess Team. We are looking for a Therapy Assistant to work 7.5 hours a day across a 5 day week for a fixed term until 06.04.26 to cover maternity leave. The post holder will be working within the Transfer to Assess Team and will support the Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists in providing treatment and rehabilitation interventions to patients.
The post will involve a wide range of duties including assisting the Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapists to deliver treatment programmes to patients, clerical, administration, involving work with computers and housekeeping duties. It is a physically demanding role.
It is essential to be able to show initiative, to be able to work effectively without direct supervision and to be able to take responsibility for delegated duties, under the guidance of a Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities
* Assist Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists to deliver treatment programmes to patients.
* Perform clerical and administrative duties, including computer-based work and basic housekeeping tasks as part of the role.
* Support the Transfer to Assess Team in providing rehabilitation interventions.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good standard of general education including mathematics, English and basic computer skills.
* Recent and relevant experience in a health care setting is essential.
* Excellent communication skills and a good awareness of patients’ needs.
* Flexible, enthusiastic and capable of working with initiative.
* Physically able to perform the duties of the role.
* Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and to take responsibility for delegated duties under supervision guidance.
