Catesby Tunnel provides a one-of-a-kind facility for the development and testing of vehicle aerodynamics and performance. It features a 2.7km perfectly straight tunnel with a consistent 0.6% gradient, offering an ideal environment for controlled, repeatable testing. This facility combines the benefits of open-road testing with the consistency and control of laboratory settings. The tunnel's still and dry conditions, combined with a stable temperature provide optimal conditions for precise measurements and reliable data collection.
Role Description
We are looking for a practical, hands-on technician to support the day-to-day operation of the Catesby Tunnel facility and assist with vehicle testing activities. The role will involve preparing the site for customers, maintaining the facility to a high standard, and providing on-the-ground support during test programmes.
This could include:

Preparing and maintaining the facility, workshops, and test areas ready for customer use.

Supporting the setup and turnaround of the tunnel for test activities.
·
Assisting with vehicle preparation, movement, positioning, and basic checks.
·
Installing and removing test equipment, mounts, sensors, or temporary hardware.
·
Supporting engineers and customers during test days, including equipment checks and basic data monitoring.
·
Maintaining tools, equipment, and consumables.
·
Carrying out routine facility maintenance and minor repairs.
·
Supporting housekeeping and ensuring a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
·
Assisting with health and safety checks, risk assessments, and site procedures.
·
Supporting the development and improvement of facility processes and working practices.
Experience working in vehicle testing, workshops, motorsport, or technical environments would be an advantage.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.

· Practical experience in a workshop, facility, automotive, or motorsport environment.
· Good mechanical skills and confidence working with tools and equipment.
· Basic electrical or instrumentation experience would be advantageous.
· Experience supporting vehicle testing or preparation would be beneficial.
· A flexible attitude and willingness to support a wide range of activities.
· Comfortable working as part of a small team with a strong "get stuck in" approach.
