Vacancy Information: This is a full-time position (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours or sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.Hourly rate of pay: £13.48- £14.33. This is a 52 week non-sessional post i.e. it will include working during the school holidays. Temporary for 1 year. Days and hours of work: Tuesday 12:00-18:00; Thursday 09:15-18:00; Friday 12:00-18:00. To start asap. This is an opportunity to work in our team at St Marys Nursery. St Mary\'s RC Primary School is a vibrant, nurturing and inclusive school community. We are a Roman Catholic School, serving the needs of Roman Catholic and non-denominational pupils in Haddington, with 5 main stream classes and a nursery. Our School roll is 111 and our nursery roll approx. 80. St Marys RC Primary School shares a joint campus with Haddington Primary School; we have our own music room however share our gym hall and dinner hall. Working within the Council, we provide our staff with opportunities to develop their skills in-house. St Mary\'s has an active PTA and Parent Council, where parents are actively encouraged to participate in all aspects of School life.

To work in support of early years staff by contributing towards the creation of a warm, friendly, safe and caring environment for children aged 2-5 years.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
* Education: Good standard of general education.
* Must hold an SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People) at SCQF Level 6 (or an alternative SSSC recognised equivalent qualification). If not already obtained, you must commit to achieve the SVQ in the appropriate period of registration to meet the SSSC registration requirements.
* First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards gaining it.
* Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to work towards gaining it.
* SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.
PVG Membership
* This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
* All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
* Please note: PVG member\'s records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG membership or update check, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant and investigated prior to any formal offer being made.
