About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and highly regarded primary school in Wavertree. This full-time role involves working closely with a Year 2 pupil who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and requires substantial support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) development.
You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to design and deliver personalised strategies that remove barriers to learning and help the pupil thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your work will mainly take place within the classroom but may also involve supporting the pupil in alternative spaces around the school, depending on their needs. Occasionally, you may be asked to provide assistance to other children with additional needs.
While prior experience of supporting a child with an EHCP is advantageous, we welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds who have relevant experience supporting children or adults with additional or complex needs.
