Job Title: Marine Compliance Officer

Location: Port of Grangemouth

Hours: 0900-1700 Monday - Thursday, 0900-1600 Friday

Compensation: £37,296

About The Role

As Marine Compliance Officer, you will support the monitoring, assurance and continuous improvement of marine compliance activities across Forth Ports, helping to ensure marine operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with statutory requirements, industry standards and company procedures. Working closely with colleagues across Marine, Operations, Health & Safety and external stakeholders, you will contribute to audits, inspections, document control, compliance reporting and corrective action management. You will play a key role in maintaining robust compliance processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and promoting a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance throughout the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Support the monitoring of marine compliance activities across the port and wider marine operational environment.
* Assist with maintaining compliance against relevant legislation, the Port & Marine Facilities Safety Code, local Acts, Byelaws, General Directions and internal company procedures.
* Prepare, maintain and review compliance records, registers, procedures and supporting documentation.
* Support internal and external audits, inspections and assurance activities, ensuring evidence is available and actions are tracked to completion.
* Assist with incident, non-conformance and corrective action follow-up, helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Engage with internal departments, port users, contractors and external stakeholders to promote consistent compliance standards.
* Support the preparation of compliance reports, briefings and management information for the Marine Department.
* Contribute to the review and improvement of marine procedures, risk controls and assurance processes.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with an interest in marine compliance, safety management and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be confident working with procedures, records and stakeholders, ensuring compliance requirements are effectively supported and maintained.

Skills and experience required:

* Knowledge of marine compliance, port operations, safety management or a related regulatory environment.
* Ability to develop an Understanding of the Port & Marine Facilities Safety Code, local port regulations, Byelaws and General Directions.
* Experience supporting audits, inspections, document control, assurance activities or compliance reporting.
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow actions through to completion.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage constructively with colleagues, port users and external organisations.
* Good organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proactive approach to supporting safe, compliant and efficient marine operations.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable preparing written reports, briefings and compliance documentation.
* Full right to work in the UK
* Full driving licence, valid in the UK.
