Overview

Payroll Specialist FTC (8 Months) at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services – Bristol, Full Time.

This role will support the business by ensuring that all of the Time Capture and Payroll related services provided by the offshore team are fit for purpose and meet business requirements. Ideally this role will develop to become a generalist Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all aspects of the end to end processes of payroll and all its related incoming and outgoing data feeds and touchpoints. As a Shared Services expert, this role will act as a conduit between the business and offshore team, review the service levels, and work to ensure the services are at the right level. The role will support escalations, design new processes, shape the service delivered to the business, drive manager education and engagement with processes across the function, and partner with the business to deliver initiatives and projects.


Responsibilities

* Subject Matter Expert on UK payroll legislation and all offshored and retained payroll-related services (end to end payroll processes and data feeds and touchpoints).
* Support the Offshore team in complex cases, escalations, report delegation and auditing.
* Handle distribution of physical documentation and post.
* Process Attachment of Earnings Orders.
* Manage offshore payrolls (Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man) including arrangement of payments.
* Oversee termination payments, COT3s and out of cycle (manual) payments.
* Prepare data/reports for Payroll Operations Managers to use in performance conversations with the offshore partner.
* Support Line Manager education and engagement with Mitie Shared Services (MSS) processes and ways of working.
* Contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) as needed and track actions to completion.
* Audit data entry in the Payroll System and ensure offshore teams are trained to maintain data accurately.
* Support production of monthly reports on data quality and risks.
* Monitor NMW compliance and data integrity.
* Oversee out of cycle payments and provide payroll banking approvals in Kyriba and other banking portals.


What we are looking for

* Strong knowledge of payroll disciplines, ideally within a shared service or outsourcing environment.
* Experience in line management or activity delegation, with the ability to review processes and use LEAN methodologies.
* Hold a CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate, or an equivalent qualification; or working towards a CIPP Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (preferred).
* Excellent customer service focus.
* Well organized with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage varying priorities.
* Ability to use end-to-end payroll-related systems and Microsoft Office Applications (preferred).
