Gonville & Caius College is seeking a Development Officer (Maternity Cover) to cover a fixed term period of leave. The role supports delivering the College's regular giving programme as part of the Development & Alumni Relations Office. This is a full-time, fixed-term position from 1st December 2025 for 9.5 months.
Hours and Salary
Hours: Full-time; 37.5 per week (Fixed term 9.5 months from 1st December 2025)
Salary: in the region of £35,000

The Role
Gonville & Caius College is seeking a Development Officer (Maternity Cover) to cover a fixed term period of leave and to play a key role in delivering its regular giving programme as part of the Development & Alumni Relations Office. The role involves managing a comprehensive regular giving programme, face-to-face fundraising and developing the nascent programme of careers and mentoring opportunities connecting current students, recent graduates and alumni.
This is a creative, impactful and results-driven role requiring strong project management skills. A track record in fundraising, marketing/communications or sales is highly desirable, as well as the ability to build lasting relationships. A degree is required; experience in running digital or telephone fundraising campaigns and strong interpersonal and communication skills are important. High attention to detail and an understanding of generational motivating factors in philanthropy are essential.
Contract and Start Date
This full-time post is on a fixed term basis (9.5 months) to cover maternity leave and is available from 1st December 2025, with an annual salary in the region of £35,000 (FTE).
Location and Team
You would work in the most central location in Cambridge, in historic buildings that support the College’s alumni relations programme. You will join a collaborative and helpful team to help achieve ambitious goals of engaging alumni and supporting the College’s cause.
