Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Medical Lead to join our team in a hybrid leadership and business development capacity. This is a unique opportunity for a senior medical professional to shape the strategic direction of our medical content while also playing a key role in generating new business. The role offers both leadership of a talented team and the chance to influence growth at the global and EMEA level.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Leadership & Strategy
* Lead the medical team, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical content.
* Define and implement medical strategy across client projects, ensuring scientific accuracy, relevance, and innovation.
* Oversee the creation, review, and approval of medical content across multiple therapeutic areas.
* Collaborate closely with account directors, project managers, and clients to provide medical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Business Development & Growth
* Identify opportunities for new business at global and EMEA levels, in collaboration with senior leadership.
* Lead and contribute to the development of proposals and responses to RFPs, ensuring compelling, scientifically robust submissions.
* Build strong client relationships, demonstrating thought leadership and a deep understanding of medical communications.
* Support the evolution of the medical team by creating opportunities that expand our portfolio and strengthen client engagement.
Team Management
* Lead a team of medical writers and associate directors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Support professional development and succession planning within the medical team.
Candidate Profile
* Extensive experience in medical communications, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality medical content.
* Proven experience in business development, particularly in contributing to RFPs and winning new accounts.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing mid-sized teams.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to balance scientific rigor with business needs.
* Comfortable working in a hybrid role combining leadership and business growth responsibilities.
