Key Responsibilities
* Assist in testing, validation, and commissioning of fuel injection components and tooling.
* Conduct lab tests using metrology equipment and support quality investigations.
* Support customer field trials and product launches.
* Support the creation, maintenance and archiving systems of the global documentation: specifications, BOMs, global requirements, benchmarking, and design reviews.
* Load and manage engineering data in AS400, SAP, and PIM systems.
* Coordinate technical sample ordering for engineering validation and testing.
* Audit, test, validate, and commission fuel injection components and tooling.
* Conduct lab tests using metrology equipment.
* Support quality investigations and resolution of product concerns.
* Work with a team of engineers and other functions to support engineering deliverables.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across global PHINIA manufacturing sites.
* Provide technical guidance to the Global Engineering team.
* Manage the UK engineering workshop, including maintenance and calibration of test equipment and tooling.
* Support reverse engineering activities including competitor components/products to develop remanufacturing methodologies.
* Oversee customer field trials where required.
* Familiarity with electro‑mechanical devices and lab equipment.
Qualifications
* Strong mechanical aptitude for automotive components.
* Hands‑on experience with production processes including automation, assembly, end‑of‑line testing, and material handling for electrical/electro‑mechanical components.
* Proficiency in CAD; SolidWorks preferred (other platforms considered).
* Experience in design and testing and validation of fuel injection system products is an advantage.
* Detail‑oriented and proactive with a hands‑on approach.
* Effective communicator and team player.
* Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic technical environment.
