Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major residential development.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a large-scale residential development in Leigh.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute individual capable of taking ownership of a significant housing scheme comprising approximately 1,500 units with an infrastructure value of circa £20m.The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account, ensuring commercial performance, cost control, and profitability targets are achieved.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial delivery of a major new build residential development from pre-construction through to final accountPrepare subcontractor enquiry packages, analyse tenders, and manage procurement activitiesNegotiate and appoint subcontractors in line with project budgets and programme requirementsManage subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, payments, and final accountsPrepare and maintain accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsMonitor project costs and identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunitiesEnsure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitabilityPrepare and submit commercial reports to senior managementWork closely with operational and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achievedEnsure contractual compliance and effective administration of subcontract agreementsMaintain accurate commercial records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycleSupport and mentor junior commercial team members where requiredRequirementsPrevious experience within a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within residential construction or housing developmentExperience delivering large-scale new build residential developmentsStrong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processesProven experience managing subcontractor procurement and accountsAbility to manage project costs, reporting, and forecasting independentlyExperience working on high-volume housing developmentsCommercially aware with strong negotiation and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced project environmentDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferredGood IT skills including Excel and commercial reporting systemsDesirable:Experience working for a national housebuilder or residential developerKnowledge of JCT contractsExperience delivering large infrastructure or enabling works packagesPrevious experience mentoring or managing junior commercial staffWhy Apply?Excellent opportunity to join a leading UK residential developerOpportunity to take ownership of a major residential scheme comprising approximately 1,500 unitsExposure to a significant development with project values circa £20mStrong pipeline of secured projects and long-term stabilitySupportive and collaborative commercial team environmentClear progression and career development opportunitiesCompetitive salary and benefits packageApplyIf you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today by applying to the role.We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
