Length of employment: Job Summary: The Desktop Quality Assurance (DQA) team is responsible for technical assurance, re-engineering and quality control for all elements of the department's desktop products. This primarily involves the management, support and testing of key technologies for a 100K Windows10/11 estate. This also includes several other supporting infrastructure components such as Azure, Intune, Citrix, Ivanti, SCCM, Cloud technologies, Software packages and VPN Client integrations such as Checkpoint and Zscaler. Desktop team are the owners of these services, and thus accountable for all day-to-day operational support and releases to the production estate, working as part of the wider Desktop organisation. The Desktop roadmap has a multi-year plan to deliver an enhanced service, with several long-term pieces of work ongoing. We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work with our team which has recently expanded and taken Model Office and User Acceptance Test team under its wings. Job Description: This is a senior role in the Desktop Quality Assurance Team and the primary function of this role is: To ensure the products and changes produced in the Desktop team are in its pristine condition and free of defects before it makes it to the production environment. Re-engineer solutions sent by other Engineers where necessary. Test and provide technical assurance support on all the products maintained by the Desktop team (Cloud tech, Citrix, Ivanti, SCCM, Windows 10/11 and Zscaler). Support DQA team lead in designing and implementation of automation scripts. Our aim is to provide a modern, reliable, and flexible service that allows simple, secure access for deployment and management of modern desktop devices, using industry best practice for: Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Configuration Manager, WSUS DevOps & Cloud Management. Windows 10/11 Builds and continued updates aligning with Evergreen. Supporting Desktop Technologies to allow seamless integration to the whole End User Desktop experience. Alongside this the successful candidate will also be expected to aide in the Support and Administration of: Windows 10/11 Enterprise. Windows Defender. ConfigMgr and WSUS. Software Distribution using SCCM and InTune. Microsoft Bit Locker. Virtualisation. DHCP, GPO / Config policies Windows SQL Server 2016. Server Monitoring Tools. Salary Information Pay for this role is from £55,557 to £68,517. The maximum salary for the grade is £66,058. However, a Digital Allowance of up to £2,459 per annum is available for exceptional candidates. Digital Allowance is non-salary, and non-pensionable, and is classed as a temporary allowance. Detailed working knowledge in 3rd / 4th line knowledge of Intune, Autopilot, Azure, Task Sequences, BIOS updates, Configuration Manager, Citrix, and W10/11 Desktops at the Enterprise level - 30k Devices and above. Significant experience of working on Major Incidents as part of a response team. Strong working knowledge and practical experience of Enterprise scale Software Packaging, Deployment Tooling and Desktop Management.
