Empty Homes Planning Team Leader

Position: Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week with 20% office time. Location: Portsmouth, England.

The Facts About The Role

As an Empty Homes Planning Team Leader you will lead the Empty Homes Coordinators, ensuring effective planning of all empty homes (void properties). You’ll manage department administration, processing invoices and job closures accurately, and liaise with the Empty Homes Managers to ensure homes are made available for letting efficiently and promptly.

You will motivate and supervise the team to meet performance targets and deliver high‑quality customer service.

Budget management, compliance with housing policies and procedures, and collaboration with Lettings and other stakeholders will also be part of your responsibilities. Your role is key to reducing turnaround times, maximising system usage and ensuring homes are ready to let within agreed timescales.


Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have experience in service delivery within a customer‑centric environment and strong communication skills. Leadership, organisational, and proactive prioritisation skills are essential. Previous administrative experience is required. Experience as a planner (or in a comparable role) is advantageous. Experience within housing or social housing is beneficial but not essential.
