Responsible for Nursery, EYFS and KS1 classes with a teaching commitment (full time HLTA cover to support release time)
The Academies for Character and Excellence has twenty primary schools across Devon and Somerset making up a dynamic and innovative learning organisation.
We live our mission and return to this constantly to help guide every action. At the heart of all we do is the pursuit of excellence; we want to grow an exceptional Trust, comprised of excellent schools. We are achieving this through our shared core values of collaboration, community, integrity, equity and of course uncompromising excellence.
We are truly collaborative, and we work together within, and across, our schools to ensure that all our children and members of staff achieve their potential. Together we work to create a full and rich curriculum allowing everyone to flourish – we translate our vision of excellence into our everyday practice. We are proud of our outcomes, but we aspire to achieve more than just academic excellence for our children. We also want our children to become healthy thinkers, curious explorers, caring citizens, knowledgeable participants and confident individuals.
Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School is a school that prides itself on our Christian values and aims to ensure all of our pupils feel happy, secure and valued and enables them to make a worthwhile contribution as young people within their community. Our school provides a gateway for children to discover, explore and learn in a caring environment. Childhood is a magical and wonderful time: our pupils follow a varied and active programme designed to give them the opportunity to build confidence and learn everything they will need for their future.
Our vision for Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School reflects the Church of England vision of education for ‘letting your light shine’. As a school family, we share a passionate commitment to learning and recognise the uniqueness of individual learners. Our vision is driven by our desire to offer the best possible education for our pupils in partnership with parents and the local community.
Our value of equity leads us to want the very best for every child and every member of staff. The Academies for Character and Excellence believe in ‘personal growth for all’ and we are committed to tackle inequalities and overcome disadvantage, and to provide bespoke opportunities for professional learning for all. We are also committed to providing high quality EYFS provision for our nursery children and believe that an excellent start in school ensures a firm foundation for successful lifelong learners.
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, ambitious Early Excellence Unit Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will not only inspire and support at Holy Trinity but will also join a group of passionate leaders to further develop our organisation together. Your professional development will be bespoke and you will be supported by the Headteacher and Trust leaders to strengthen and hone your leadership skills. You will automatically be part of the Trust’s Talent Management programme where you will have opportunities to grow and develop further.
In addition, and with regards to Leading the EEU, the successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Develop the nursery provision from its current term time only provision to offer a year-round excellent pre-school provision;
2. Demonstrate a commitment to developing consistent and progressive high quality learning from 2 year olds through to the end of Key Stage 1 and offering an inclusive education for all children through working with staff and families to formulate personal plans for improvement;

4. Work alongside teachers to provide advice and develop impactful class strategies and EYFS pedagogy;

6. Form positive relationships; inspire and motivate all children to enable them to be the best that they can be;
7. Keep up to date and accurate records of statutory assessments and use data forensically to inform improvements;
8. Review and update all records to ensure that statutory requirements are met for inclusion of all pupils;
9. Work in partnership with the Headteacher, LAB and wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos is translated into action
10. Participate in Trust-wide pre-school, EYFS and KS1 meetings;
11. Attend meetings with parents, teachers and other early years professionals to ensure all pupils’ needs are met;
12. Work with the wider Pastoral Team (Pastoral Lead, SEND Manager, and Nurture Lead) to close the gap for vulnerable and disadvantaged learners and support our wider families;
13. In addition to the above the EEU Lead will be expected to carry out any further duties that the Headteacher may deem necessary in line with the role responsibilities.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance is required for this post.
