Overview
As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, with a focus on enhancing existing products and components through technical improvements. The position influences strategies, projects, and programs within the functional area or business organization, shaping workflows and driving quality, efficiency, and team effectiveness. With significant input into setting priorities, the role operates with moderate autonomy and requires strong operational judgment, guided by established professional practices and policies tailored to the responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities
* Lead the thermodynamic analysis in support of design of electric pumps for aerospace applications.
* Develop and validate models to predict the performance of electric pumps under various operating conditions.
* Support the development of custom test equipment as needed for pump test and development.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, to ensure the integration and performance of electric pumps within larger systems.
* Conduct performance testing and data analysis to validate design assumptions and improve product performance.
* Identify and implement design improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
* Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to stakeholders.
* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermodynamics and electric pump design.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years of experience in thermodynamics engineering).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in thermodynamics engineering, with experience in aerospace or other related industries.
* Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on thermodynamics.
* Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and other simulation tools.
* Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.
* Proficiency interpreting and applying standard thermodynamics concepts such as Psychrometric Charts, Enthalpy and Entropy calculations and Refrigeration, Brayton, and similar Cycle calculations.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Experience with pump design and analysis.
* Experience with turbomachinery design.
* Experience with aerospace electric pump systems.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.

The base pay range for this position is $121,500 - $145,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on October 31, 2025.
