Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will provide strategic advice and counsel to Senior Leaders and their respective leadership teams in RBC BlueBay Asset Management, on all aspects of human resources including talent management, diversity, organizational design, change management, workforce management, leadership, employee development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
This role is full time and requires 4 days in the office.
What outcomes will you drive?
The following are key outcomes that you will drive in the Human Resources Business Partner role. Although listed separately, they often overlap and one influences the other. Your role will require you to constantly prioritize, re-prioritize, and integrate these outcomes:
* Strategy Development and Execution. In your role, it will be key that you understand both the HR and Business’ strategic priorities and key initiatives and are working with your Leaders to determine people and organization implications for their teams. You will advance and execute the RBC HR strategic objectives and people priorities and advise on group and platform strategies to source, retain and develop Human Capital in order to meet business needs.
* Talent Performance and Development. You will work with the leadership teams to assess talent. You will recommend ways to develop people to better perform their current roles and/or to prepare them for future roles. This will include informal 1:1 dialogues to create development plans as well as managing HR’s talent planning, performance, development, and succession cycles. This also includes the performance and development of the Leaders themselves, where you will provide feedback, coaching, and formal development recommendations.
* Advice and Consultation. The people-related questions and issues a Leader faces every day are as unique as the individuals that make up RBC. You will partner effectively with the Leaders and with other sources of expertise in HR to provide your best advice and counsel on how to resolve issues and concerns in a way that meets the needs of the individual and the organization. You will also be conversant with HR Data and its analysis so that you can inform decision-making and recommend actions around important topics such as Culture and Inclusion, Engagement and all other outcomes listed here.
* Organization Development and Change. Recognizing that the context within which people work (e.g. the organization structure, reward/compensation systems, leadership, their teams, and culture) all have an effect on their productivity and enjoyment, you will help Leaders to utilize these levers to achieve desired results and engagement while helping people to adopt any associated changes.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
* Extensive experience in Human Resources, with some portion of that in an HR Business Partner role working directly with senior leaders
* Undergraduate degree
* A hunger for impact
* Ability to prioritize high volume, competing priorities for multiple stakeholders and in turn deliver balance of advice and counsel with strong execution capabilities
* Ability to understand, assess and respond to complex situations and provide strategic and innovative solutions to drive results
* Strong relationship management capabilities including the ability to impact, influence, and constructively challenge senior leaders
* Solid aptitude for change management capabilities and leadership effectiveness
* Strong business acumen, growth mindset, and consultative orientation
Nice-to-have:
* CIPD qualification
* Asset Management industry experience
