Chef required - Pine House.
Responsible to: Hospital Manager

Salary: Chef/£12.50 ph
Hours: Full Time - 32 hours

The Service: Pine House is a 20 bed all-Male rehabilitation service located in Bacup. We provide patient focused and evidence- based care which is bespoke to each individual and their needs. We plan with the patient their recovery journey from the point of referral to recovery and enable a supportive and transitional discharge period which aims to be facilitated in a seamless manner. The service ethos embraces recovery principles and incorporates interventions which promote and enable the rehabilitation pathway within a locked environment.
The role:
· To plan and provide healthy and nutritious meals to all patients on a daily basis, ensuring food purchased is fresh and within budget.
· Ensure all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.
· Meet each patients dietary and cultural needs.
· Obtain regular feedback from patients and staff to inform menu reviews.
Organisation
· Participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable.
· Adhere to all service policies and procedures.
Functional
· Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health and affiliate food, health and social care regulatory agencies and organisations.
· To conform to the Hospital's Food Hygiene procedures.
· Assist in the purchase of supplies in accordance with the planned menu, whilst monitoring, working to budgets and controlling the service from suppliers.
· Maintain an accurate stock control system and appropriate stock levels.
· Maintain and check First Aid equipment within the Kitchen.
· Carry out good Food Management, temperature controls and HACCP documentation according to current Food Hygiene regulations.

Knowledge/Qualifications
· Previous catering experience within a commercial or business setting.
· Food Hygiene Certified – Level 2 as a minimum. Willing to work towards Food Hygiene qualifications.
· Understanding and commitment to Equal Opportunities.
· Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
An Enhanced DBS Disclosure check will be required for this position .
