We're recruiting for a growing UK cleantech business that's revolutionising solar thermal technology and decarbonising heating systems globally. Following a successful Series B funding round, they're expanding their engineering team.
The Role
Mechanical Design Engineer | £60,000 | Crawley HQ (40% office, flexible working)
You'll be designing renewable heating systems for commercial and industrial buildings, working with cutting-edge solar thermal technology alongside heat pumps, thermal storage, and other low-carbon solutions.
What you'll do:
* Design safe, reliable renewable heating systems for C&I clients
* Create P&ID designs, roof layouts, and component specifications
* Perform demand/generation calculations and structural analysis
* Work with cross-disciplinary teams including architects and construction partners
* Support client presentations and technical proposals
* Contribute to product development and system improvements
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* 5-8 years M&E design engineering experience
* Engineering degree or equivalent
* RIBA stage 3/4 design experience
* AutoCAD proficiency
* HVAC/building services background
* Knowledge of commercial/industrial heating and electrical standards
* Client and stakeholder management experience
Desirable:
* Solar/renewable energy experience
* Heat pump and thermal storage knowledge
* Energy modeling software skills
