The Clinical Matron (CM) will have accountability for quality, staff, finance and performance of their clinical areas. This will include a particular focus on ensuring that patients receive high quality, evidence based compassionate care, and that staff are supported and developed to deliver this and to value and respect each other in line with the Trust values.
They will have enhanced clinical skills and provide clinical expertise both within their own clinical environment and across the organisation as needed. This will involve being responsible for the development and implementation of service and quality improvements in their areas. They will work in partnership with the clinical lead consultants to provide day-to-day professional leadership for the multi-disciplinary clinical team.
We are looking for candidates who have a strong clinical presence, leading and developing a successful, caring and compassionate team, working alongside the lead medical consultants and lead AHPs for the area.
We are looking for nurses who are highly engaged, want to lead, are motivated and excited to join us on this new adventure.
There is a strong focus on clinical quality and ensuring the patients receive a good experience within our care, resulting in improved patient experience. We believe our clinical leaders need to be pragmatic and embrace change. Ideally you should have experience of running a busy clinical area and have a passion for delivering great care within a team and leading on the quality agenda and quality improvement.
St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
At gesh we are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements. Applicants are encouraged to discuss any flexibility they may need during the recruitment process.
