Location: Priory Hospital Woking, GU21 2QF.
Compensation: £45,344 – £49,992 per year, dependent on experience.
Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience within Mental Health. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.
What you’ll be doing
The role involves effectively managing the ward and its resources, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and a suitable skill mix through efficient rota management, annual leave planning, and training arrangements. The post holder will have full oversight of the nursing staff rota and be responsible for ensuring standards are maintained. They will ensure all nursing team members receive regular clinical supervision, appraisals, meet CPD requirements, and complete mandatory training, while proactively addressing any development or performance concerns. The role also requires recognising and rewarding positive staff performance, acting as a visible role model and leader who promotes a culture of learning, professionalism, and continuous development. Additionally, the post holder will disseminate, implement, and monitor compliance with relevant hospital, divisional, and group policies and statutory requirements. The position is a leadership role. The post holder will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care on the addiction and rehab ward.
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
* Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Mental Health.
Desirable
* Experience in an addiction and rehab setting; valuable insights into managing complex and dynamic clinical environments, responding effectively to patients’ needs, strong clinical decision‑making, resilience, and a proactive approach to delivering safe, high‑quality care in fast‑paced settings.
