About the School
Our school is a remarkable place and has been educating girls since 1888. Around one thousand girls, age 4 to 18, from Guildford and its surrounding towns and villages enjoy exceptional facilities and inspired teaching. Guildford High School comprises a Junior School and Senior School, both on the same site. While providing all-through education, each school has its own distinct personality and girls join us at many different entry points. Our staff are integral to delivering high quality education to the girls in our care, inspiring them to think and learn creatively. Position Summary
We are seeking a creative and ambitious Head of Marketing to deliver and grow the full range of marketing activity for Guildford High School. This is a diverse and challenging role, which will require the post-holder to play a key part in developing and delivering marketing strategy for one of the country's leading independent schools.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Admissions, the Head of Marketing will be a strategic thinker and a creative communicator keen to embrace the spirit of GHS, build a powerful brand and craft a compelling narrative for the School. The Head of Marketing is supported by a Communications Executive, Digital Marketing Executive and Marketing Administrator.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and grow the full range of marketing activity for Guildford High School.
* Develop and deliver marketing strategy in a highly competitive local marketplace.
* Apply sound marketing and communications principles to research target audiences and craft a compelling narrative for the School.
* Build and maintain a powerful brand and promote the School’s vision and values.
* Work collaboratively with the marketing, admissions, partnerships and alumni team to achieve high standards of support and inspiration.
* Support and lead a small marketing team, including a Communications Executive, Digital Marketing Executive and Marketing Administrator, as appropriate.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable track record in strategic marketing, communications and brand management, gained from within or outside the education sector.
* Strong strategic thinking and creative communication skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, and the ability to implement policies that promote the welfare of children.
* Capacity to conduct research on target audiences and local market dynamics.
* Experience in managing teams and delivering results in a fast‑moving environment.
Salary & Hours
Term‑time role, 37.5 hours per week (5 days a week) plus some flexibility to work during non‑term time as required.
Salary: £38,750 – £42,500 per annum, depending on number of non‑term time weeks worked (pro‑rata to FTE £50,000).
Start: ASAP.
