A rare and exciting opportunity has come available for a forward‑thinking dental nurse to join The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital. A post of 34 hours per week is available.
The dental nurse will work alongside and support an Orthodontic consultant, Maxillofacial consultants, DCTs, Orthodontic therapists and Hygienists.

* To support an environment that promotes excellence in nursing practice and development of high levels of clinical skills.
* Work collaboratively and co‑operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
* Participate in team building/communication, to develop and consolidate a cohesive and supportive team.
* To communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, their relative/carers, nurse colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in an accurate and efficient manner.
* Receives sensitive information concerning patient's medical condition. Deal with nervous/anxious patients.
* Identify, discuss and report any relevant nursing/patient needs with team/ward staff, patients.
* Work in partnership with the patient and family and other health care professionals in care delivery.
* Provide support and advice to patients and relatives when faced with distressing situations.
* Accept responsibility; be aware and able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical area and able to adhere to both by self and colleagues.
* To have good communication skills both verbally, formal documentation and electronic (I.T.) sources with all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients and families.
* Maintain accurate and legible records of patient care in line with Trust policies.
* Adhere to Trust policies pertaining to patient confidentiality/ the Data Protection Act/ Caldicott Recommendations.
