Electrical Tutor - Permanent - Aston, Birmingham
Make UK is a leading provider of essential business support, technical training, and a champion for the Manufacturing sector in the UK. We are seeking a new Technical Tutor to join the team in our Aston Technology Hub to deliver top-quality guidance, training, and mentoring to talented apprentices in small groups.
The main purpose of the job is to structure and deliver a range of programmes, including Apprenticeship Standards and qualifications, as well as monitor and assess learners to ensure they achieve their qualifications and learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assignments/assessments that meet Awarding Body and Centre requirements
* Develop course materials, including handouts and reference materials, to support topic delivery
* Deliver training to apprentices and adults, ensuring Awarding Body and Centre requirements are met
* Create a motivational learning environment, providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery
* Assess learners' progress, providing feedback and progress reports to learners and managers
* Ensure teaching and learning compliance with OfSTED, LSC, Awarding Body, and Centre standards
* Maintain learner discipline, health, and safety, and learner records
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Time-served apprentice or relevant City and Guilds (Part 3) qualification
* Skills-specific NVQ Level 3 or higher, or equivalent, and Level 3 teacher training qualification
* Recent industrial experience, knowledge of current industry and best practice standards, and empathy with young people
* Logical approach to problem-solving, good presentational and communication skills, literate, and numerate
* Ability to motivate and command learner respect

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8am to 4:30pm, Fridays - 8am to 1pm
