Job responsibilities and duties are attached as part of the general job responsibilities for the Ageing and Complex Medicine Directorate.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities from the postholder and the directorate include:
* Join the Ageing and Complex Medicine Directorate; contribute expertise in Acute Comprehensive Geriatric Medicine and sub-specialties (Stroke Medicine, Orthogeriatrics and Frailty Services).
* Work across in-patient and out-patient settings with supportive colleagues; participate in MDTs; manage community-based care with Advance care planning.
* Support development of sub-specialty interests within Elderly Care and engage in in-house training/ CPD activities.
* Participate in on-call arrangements for senior roles (AFC band 8A or above may be required to participate).
Person Specification
Skills (Essential)
* Managerial structure within the NHS
* Experience of Audit and its role in Clinical Governance
* Commitment to training and teaching junior medical staff and other health professionals
* Ability to work in a flexible manner
Experience/Training (Essential)
* Recent comprehensive experience in Geriatric Medicine
Professional Qualifications (Essential)
* MRCP (or equivalent)
* Full GMC with licence to practice
* MB ChB or equivalent
Knowledge (Essential)
* Commitment to development of Acute Medical services within the trust
* Evidence of being proactive and self-motivated
* Ability to work as part of a team
