#teamED are seeking a dynamic, motivated and dedicated Children’s Nurse with a passion for emergency and trauma care, who wants to experience real life 24-hour A&E.

We are looking for someone to work in the emergency department caring for children and their families, and who is keen to develop your skills as an Emergency Children’s Nurse. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and #teamED will provide opportunities for triaging (if not already doing so), planning, delivering and evaluating personalised health and wellbeing care needs of children and their families in line with the Trust’s Values & Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Triage paediatric patients; assess and document vital signs and PEWS.
* Early recognition and management of acutely ill children.
* Safe transportation and fluid intake monitoring.
* Perform ECGs, wound dressings, plaster casts, catheterisation, venepuncture and cannulation.
* Administer blood transfusions, provide palliative and terminal care, care for central lines, and manage admissions and discharges.
Our fantastic team consists of 19 Consultants, 5 Advanced Nurse Clinicians, a team of Emergency Nurse Practitioners, experienced emergency nurses (both adult and child), Trauma Technicians and Healthcare Assistants.

The paediatric area is within the department and we are looking for people dedicated to improving the care of children in our area, working together to achieve our goals.
