Volunteer Opportunity: Autism Alert Card Administrator KAT Trust : Gillingham (hybrid office/homeworking)
Are you passionate about supporting autistic individuals and improving public understanding of autism? KAT Trust is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Administrator to oversee the distribution and management of our Autism Alert Cards.
About the Autism Alert Card
This card is designed to help autistic individuals identify themselves and alert emergency services when needed. It provides vital information to help police, ambulance, fire, hospital staff, and other public service professionals respond with understanding and care.
This Card highlights communication challenges and behaviours that may be misinterpreted. Helps reduce stress and confusion during emergency interactions. Includes a named contact for support and guidance. Is available to individuals of all ages with a formal autism diagnosis.
Role Responsibilities
As a Volunteer Administrator, you will:
Manage applications and maintain accurate records. Liaise with applicants and their support networks. Coordinate card production and distribution. Ensure data protection and confidentiality. Promote awareness of the card within the community and emergency services.
What Were Looking For
Someone with strong organisational and communication skills. Empathy and understanding of autism (training can be provided). Basic IT skills (email, spreadsheets, data entry). Commitment to inclusive practices and safeguarding.

Supporting over 80 people in Medway and across Kent, The Kent Autistic Trust provides a wide range of services designed to meet diverse needs of autistic people and people with Associated Neuro developmental conditions. We provide residential homes, supported living accommodation, day resource services, respite, and outreach services.
