Content Manager
Osborne Clarke, an international legal practice with over 330 partners and more than 1,260 lawyers in 26 locations, is looking to significantly invest in our Communications and Brand team. We’re creating a permanent, hybrid‑working Content Manager role based in either Bristol or London. This leadership position will define and deliver a firm‑wide content strategy, ensuring a consistent, engaging brand voice across social, video, podcast, intranet and other communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
* Content Strategy & Leadership
o Lead the development of our content strategy aligned to firm priorities.
o Define content goals, target audiences and communication strategies.
o Establish and manage editorial calendars and the content pipeline from planning through to publication.
* Editorial & Production
o Evaluate proposed content for suitability across channels and formats.
o Edit content for clarity, coherence, grammar, punctuation and style; ensure adherence to brand voice and style guide.
o Oversee layout, design and visual aesthetics in collaboration with the brand team.
o Copy‑edit and proofread marketing materials, external messaging, internal communications, and client‑focused projects.
* Insights, Research & Continuous Improvement
o Create and roll out a strong measurement and optimisation programme for content across all channels.
o Analyse performance metrics and make data‑driven decisions to improve engagement.
o Conduct high‑level content research and competitive analysis to inform planning.
o Stay current with industry trends and digital technology advancements.
* Collaboration & Governance
o Partner with PR, communications, brand, marketing and events to develop and refine content.
o Promote effective communication and a culture of mutual understanding across the business.
o Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to shape adaptable content strategies that support commercial objectives.
o Collaborate with Digital Marketing to continuously evolve our digital marketing approaches.
Desired Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in copywriting, content strategy, editing and proofreading across multi‑channel environments.
* Strong team leadership experience, managing and developing content teams.
* Expertise in creative content management and execution, combining technical know‑how with creative flair and a passion for innovation.
* Solid understanding of content design, digital user experiences, SEO, web standards and paid social campaigns.
* Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management; ability to give constructive feedback.
* Highly organised with excellent time and project management skills; comfortable reviewing large volumes of copy under deadline.
* Strong analytical, fact‑checking and proofreading skills with a commercial mindset and business maturity.
* Competent user of CMS tools such as WordPress; experience writing engaging technical content for non‑technical audiences.
* User of content publishing and analytics platforms such as Drupal, Sprout Social, GA4, Siteimprove and Semrush.
