Role: Assistant Management Accountant

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday. Core hours are 09:30 – 16:00; you can work around these to suit you. The role is hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Role details
Location: Leeds, LS15 8GB (hybrid: 2–3 days in the office per week)
What you’ll be doing
* Manage stock control processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation, reporting discrepancies, and verification of supplier invoice accuracy
* Complete detailed month‑end analysis, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reviews
* Collaborate with the Management Accountant to ensure month‑end tasks are completed on time to support timely production of Management Accounts
* Prepare and review key financial reports to support effective financial oversight and decision‑making
* Provide financial information to stakeholders and assist with ad‑hoc financial and business projects as required
* Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance efficiency while supporting the Commercial team and wider Finance function
Who we’re looking for
* Actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with relevant experience in a high‑accuracy, deadline‑driven finance environment
* Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, complex calculations) and proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Highly diligent and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Confident and professional communicator with stakeholders at all levels
* Commercially minded with the ability to understand drivers and support decision‑making through insightful analysis
* Experience driving process improvements and implementing efficient, scalable solutions
* Experience in Stock and Purchase Ledger processes with robust financial control
