A 27-month fixed-term training position designed to provide the trainee with the experience, knowledge, skills, and behaviours to qualify and register as a Pharmacy Technician.
The post holder must be committed to meeting the General Pharmaceutical Council’s Initial Education and Training Standards and Apprenticeship standards. Blended learning is provided throughout workplace rotations, including distance learning and study by our training provider, Buttercups Training.
We are seeking applicants for our next cohort of Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices. Various roles are available, including opportunities in cross-sector partnership working and aseptic dispensing.
Working under the supervision of registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within multidisciplinary teams, Trainee Pharmacy Technicians will assist in the provision and preparation of medicines to meet patient needs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, be patient-focused, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to work efficiently, accurately, pay attention to detail, and integrate into multiple teams is essential.
You must be highly committed to achieving the Integrated Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, demonstrating excellent work/study/life balance skills and self-motivation.
You will benefit from support from an Educational Supervisor, practice supervisors, clinical supervisors, mentors, and the educational provider’s tutors and pastoral support throughout the apprenticeship.
Due to the rotational nature of placements, candidates must be willing and able to travel between sites. Cross-sector positions require a car and business insurance.

An individual training plan will be tailored to meet course requirements and your personal needs based on your current experience and skills.
Successful completion of the two-year apprenticeship will make you eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council and practice as a registered Pharmacy Technician. While efforts will be made to secure a substantive position post-training, this cannot be guaranteed.
