Building Systems UK supplies premium building envelope solutions and routes to market for upstream Tata businesses, notably Tata Colors. The Shotton site employs around 230 colleagues and operates to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with safety and continuous improvement at its core. As our Asset Integrity and Reliability Engineer, you will lead reliability improvements that lift availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and protect product quality for blue-chip construction customers. Why this role matters Safeguard production continuity by improving MTBF and reducing maintenance cost per unit. Modernise how we maintain assets using condition monitoring, data-led PM, and disciplined outage planning. Influence capital planning and inventory decisions so the right investments and critical spares are in place at the right time. What you will do Build and deliver risk-based, preventative maintenance plans that cut unplanned downtime and stabilise OEE. Complete structured asset surveys covering condition, obsolescence, and criticality, then translate findings into an Asset Risk Register and time-bound improvement plans. Plan and coordinate line outages with Operations and Planning to clear work safely, on-time, and to budget. Implement and develop condition monitoring on critical plant - vibration, thermography, lubrication analysis where appropriate. Strengthen spare parts strategy - define critical spares, clean up stock data, address gaps, and optimise holding value. Support capex and operational improvements with clear business cases, scope, and acceptance criteria. Coach operators in basic care and autonomous maintenance to build ownership at the line. Uphold Tata Steel standards for health, safety, quality, and environment across all activities and contractors. What you will bring HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline plus practical experience in a high-volume or process environment. Proven use of reliability tools and methods - FMEA, RCA, RCM, CMMS scheduling, and condition monitoring. Confident planner and communicator who can convert data into safe, executable work and clear stakeholder updates. Drive, precision, and resilience - able to prioritise in a live manufacturing setting without compromising safety. Strong IT capability with maintenance systems and reporting.
