About the Role
The role involves managing an Occupational Therapy team to ensure children, young people, and families needing housing adaptations or re-housing support receive high-quality assessments, support, and interventions. You will identify and develop solutions to meet their needs.
You will support the Service Manager/Head of Service in developing, delivering, and reviewing Occupational Therapy services, ensuring access to housing and facilities is maximized and appropriate recommendations are made to third-party agencies.
You will ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures and manage the team's budget, including recommendations for spending of public funds such as Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and related funding.
You will provide Occupational Therapy advice regarding housing adaptations to staff and serve as the lead OT for the Children’s Housing OT service, advising and collaborating with external agencies as needed.
About you
We seek an enthusiastic, motivated OT who is committed to making a difference for children and families. You should be passionate about shaping children's social care and possess:
* Good management experience with the ability to drive practice standards and achieve outcomes within timescales
* A qualified Occupational Therapist with housing adaptations experience (as a student, OT, or personal experience) registered with HCPC
* Kindness, empathy, respect for diversity, and professional integrity
* A willingness to learn and develop continually
* A proactive, innovative mindset to improve service outcomes
