Job title: Senior Fire Risk Co-ordinator Building Safety
Location: Kent County Wide – Station location dependant on candidate
Hours: Full time – 37 Hours per week
Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 17.5% employer contribution
Holidays: In addition to bank/ public holidays you will receive 30 days holiday
Base salary: Grade 6 - £36,316- £40,798 per annum depending on experience

Being a Senior Risk Co-ordinator Building Safety
As our Senior Fire Risk Co-ordinator, you’ll be the go-to expert for all risk-related queries, managing critical data and leveraging the Dynamics risk management platform to keep everything running smoothly. You’ll lead and motivate a team of six Fire Safety Coordinators, ensuring deadlines are met and SLA’s are exceeded.
Your leadership will be key in helping the department meet its regulatory goals and deliver on the Risk-Based Intervention Programme. We’re looking for someone who champions inclusivity—someone who understands neurodiversity and actively fosters a workplace culture where every cognitive profile is respected and valued.
What you’ll do
* Lead and coordinate a team of six Fire Safety Coordinators, managing daily operations and rota planning for Building Safety Coordinators.
* Ensure quality and accuracy of data entered the Dynamics risk management platform to support the Risk-Based Intervention Programme.
* Manage and support the performance and development of direct reports.
* Oversee the processing and quality assurance of consultations from partner agencies (e.g. Approved Inspectors, Planning, Licensing).
* Allocate resources to support the Enforcement Team with enforcement and prosecution file preparation.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage data and training on the Building Safety Dynamics platform, including presenting to customers when needed.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage, review, and support data maintenance and training on the Building Safety Dynamics platform, including customer presentations when required.
What you’ll bring
* Proven capability in managing teams, fostering high performance, professional development, and team wellbeing.
* Ability to plan and prioritise own and others’ workloads to meet deadlines with a team based in different locations.
* Ability to communicate complex issues, principles, and ideas clearly and effectively to a wide range of internal and external customers with the ability to adapt communication and support strategies accordingly.
* Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion and how these apply to public service delivery.
* Excellent customer service skills both verbal and written.
* Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
