BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (PRINT MANAGEMENT)

ROLE DETAILS

My client is not just a print management business; they are a strategic partner helping brands optimise, streamline, and enhance their print and marketing communications supply chains. Built on decades of industry expertise, they deliver innovative print management solutions through collaboration, service excellence, brand guardianship, and operational integrity.


As part of their continued growth strategy, they are seeking a highly motivated, commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the acquisition of new clients and generate sustainable revenue growth. This is a true hunter-gatherer role, focused on identifying, creating, and converting new business opportunities across key sectors.


As a full-time hybrid Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the companys growth agenda. You will be responsible for building a robust sales pipeline, securing new client relationships, developing strategic opportunities, and positioning the business as the preferred print management partner within the market.


The successful candidate will be a proactive new business professional with a strong track record of winning new accounts, opening doors, and consistently delivering against ambitious sales targets.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


New Business Development:

Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within key vertical markets.

Generate and develop a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, social selling, and market engagement.

Create and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and market penetration.

Lead the full sales cycle from prospect identification through to negotiation, proposal presentation, and contract award.

Pipeline & Opportunity Management:

* Maintain a healthy and measurable sales pipeline using CRM systems and sales management tools.
* Qualify opportunities effectively and manage sales activity to maximise conversion rates.
* Provide accurate forecasting and regular reporting on pipeline performance and business development activity.

Relationship Building:

* Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target organisations.
* Position yourself as a trusted advisor, understanding client challenges and delivering tailored print management solutions.
* Collaborate with internal operational and account management teams to ensure a seamless transition from sale to implementation.
* Sales Target Achievement:
* Consistently achieve and exceed agreed revenue, margin, and new business targets.
* Demonstrate a results-driven approach with a strong focus on generating profitable growth.
* Utilise excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to secure long-term client partnerships.

Market & Industry Knowledge:

* Maintain a strong understanding of the print management, procurement, and marketing services landscape.
* Monitor competitor activity, market trends, emerging technologies, and client buying behaviours to identify new opportunities.
* Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to enhance market presence and generate leads.


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

* Proven track record of winning new business and generating revenue growth within the Print Management, Print Services, or Marketing Services sectors.
* Demonstrable success operating in a hunter-led business development role.
* Strong understanding of print management solutions, procurement processes, production methods, and supply chain management.
* Experience building and managing sales pipelines, from lead generation through to contract close.
* Ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
* Consistent history of meeting and exceeding sales and revenue targets.


QUALIFICATIONS

* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, New Business Manager, or Sales Manager within the Print Management or Print Industry sectors.
* Strong prospecting, networking, negotiation, and closing skills.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
* Commercially astute with strong strategic sales planning capabilities.
* Self-motivated, resilient, and highly driven to identify and win new business opportunities.
* Track record of delivering and exceeding revenue and sales targets.
* Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
* Print Management industry experience is essential.
